Pôle de Dakar of UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) and the Faculté des Sciences et Technologies de l’Education et la Formation (FASTEF) of  University Cheikh Anta Diop welcomed in Dakar, from 13 to 17 June 2016, the students of the 9th cohort of the training Politiques sectorielles et gestion des systèmes éducatifs (PSGSE).

26 students gathered at the Francophone Digital Campus of the Regional Office of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) for West Africa during 5 days, in order to take the exams of the first semester of the PSGSE training and to carry out practical work on the education sector financial simulation model with the support of technical experts, education policy analysts, of Pôle de Dakar. These students are senior staff of ministries in charge of education in their respective country or NGO staff, from Cameroon, Comoros, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, France and Germany.

PSGSE has been developed to deal with the relative scarcity of African staff trained to conduct sector analysis and management of education systems. This training is directly inspired by methods mobilized by the experts of the Pôle de Dakar as part of the sectoral analysis (Country Status Report - CSR) that offer a cross and comprehensive approach to the operation, financing and performance of the educational systems analyzed.

The training was developed in partnership with the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (UNESCO Chair in Science Education of the FASTEF).
