3rd intake: Steering and Management of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (PGEFTP) course

Efforts to expand Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and improve its effectiveness require strong national capacities in the area of steering and management of TVET systems. To meet this requirement UNESCO's International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO Dakar) Africa Office designed the Steering and Management of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (PGEFTP) training course.

The objective of this course is to build the capacity of public and private sector officials involved in the steering and management of national TVET systems, at the strategic or operational level, primarily in Africa, in the steering, management and implementation of vocational training policies. This is an on-the-job training course, which targets five to seven countries in the African region each year, with 7 to 10 candidates per country.

The relatively broad scope of the training has led to the establishment of a training course lasting 8 months. It offers 4 modules taught by distance learning (personal and/or group work, webinars, research activities, and virtual classes) and face-to-face (a reunion at the end of the training, in order to deepen the understanding and mastery of the methodologies taught, to enrich the skills acquired, and to allow for an exchange of experiences among participants and between countries).

We are now recruiting our third cohort to start the course given in French, on 14 November 2022.

A face to face meeting is subject to the evolution of the health situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Senegal, but also globally.
