2nd edition of the Gender Responsive Education Planning short course in French

The Gender at the Centre Initiative of UNESCO's International Institute for Educational Planning in Dakar (IIEP-UNESCO Dakar) is launching a new Francophone edition of its short course on Gender Responsive Educational Planning.

The training is aimed at national executives and managers from Ministries of Education involved in the formulation, planning, and implementation of education policies and plans, working at central and decentralized levels. The training is also open to specialists from related fields (finance, health, etc.) as well as from civil society and development, research, and training institutes.

The training aims to equip participants with the skills to integrate gender into all stages of educational planning, taking into account the multidimensional factors that perpetuate gender inequalities in and through education, in the classroom and after school.

Priority places are reserved for candidates from the G5 Sahel countries, members of the Gender at the Centre Initiative (GCI):

  • Burkina Faso
  • Chad
  • Mali
  • Mauritania
  • Niger

TRAINING OVERVIEW

Objective: To build the capacity of technical teams and managers to integrate gender aspects into all stages of educational planning

Dates: 19 September to 18 November 2022

Language: French

Price: free of charge

Application deadline: 17 July 2022

Modalities: Online sessions, distance learning and personal work and interaction with facilitators and other participants through synchronous and asynchronous activities on the virtual campus

Workload: On average 8 hours per week, in total about 70 hours

Participants:

  • Technical teams and managers involved in the formulation, planning and implementation of education policies and plans.
  • Professionals from civil society and non-governmental organisations working in these fields (CSOs and NGOs)
