"This programme completely meets our aspirations": 2nd intake PGEFTP course

Coming from 9 different African countries, the participants gathered to enrich their knowledge, deepen the skills acquired during the course, and share experiences and good practices among peers and between countries. The course is structured around four modules and aims to strengthen the capacities of managers in the management of vocational training systems.

CBA and training of trainers in Africa: results of two significant studies

As part of its technical cooperation with partner countries and its support for knowledge production, IIEP-UNESCO Dakar has recently carried out two studies: one on the contextualisation and adaptation of the Competency-Based Approach (CBA) and another on technical and vocational education and training. 

These two studies covered the following eight countries: Benin, Ethiopia, Ghana, Madagascar, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa. 

PGEFTP: first course in vocational training policy management completed

A virtual closing ceremony for the first batch of participants of the IIEP-UNESCO Dakar training course in Steering and Management of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (PGEFTP) was held on Tuesday 30th November 2021.

Over 130 applications were received for this inaugural course demonstrating the importance of the topic and the great interest that vocational training system managers have in capacity building.

IIEP-UNESCO Dakar increases participation to its TVET management training course


The IIEP has increased the number of participants in the second intake of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training Management (TVET) course.

The second intake of PGEFTP was launched online on Monday 27th September 2021. The course continues to attract high-level industry specialists and sector personnel from various African countries.

The second session has 52 participants, 45 from six African countries: Burkina Faso, Chad, Guinea, Senegal, Tunisia and the Union of Comoros.
